About April
I am the founder of Take Space Consulting, a boutique firm focused on innovation in education by embracing the intersection of technology and creativity. She has previously worked at Khan Academy, Vassar College, and with numerous clients in academic publishing.
An award-winning astrophysicist, prolific writer, and education leader with a dedication to neurodiversity, April develops groundbreaking tools and approaches to make learning accessible for everyone. Thanks to a generous grant from NASA, she is pioneering the development of an AI astrophotography coach in collaboration with her partners at SnapInstruct.
Her mission is to inspire curiosity and expand opportunities for all.
In recognition of my contributions, Asteroid 33845 Aprilrussell has been named in my honor.
When I am not working, I enjoy outdoor sports, fiber arts, and binge-watching Netflix with my cats (and occasionally my family).
