About Ellie
I’m a grad student at GSU with a focus on experimental observations and software development for speckle imaging. My current research uses various speckle imaging techniques to directly image high-order multiple star systems to look for previously unresolved companions, since improvements to speckle imaging has increased the range of separations and magnitude contrasts we’re able to resolve.
While I love astronomy, one of my favorite parts of the job is coding. Previously I helped develop code to image stellar surfaces using interferometry at CHARA. I’m currently working at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff as a pre-doc. I expect to graduate early 2024.
Outside of research, I like to do various fiber arts, sew, and I play roller derby in Flagstaff.
