About Jeske
My current research focus is on the development and application of a laser phase plate for improving image contrast in phase contrast cryo-electron microscopy. I am interested generally in applied laser physics and quantum optics, and on this project the added purpose of benefiting biological research efforts. Outside of physics, some things I enjoy are taking care of my pet snails and houseplant collection, singing with my band, and petting dogs. I use she/they pronouns and identify as a bisexual genderqueer woman. I am passionate about science outreach and increasing visibility of scientists of traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.
