About Lisa
Dr. Lisa Storrie-Lombardi joined the Las Cumbres Observatory – a global network of robotically operated telescopes – as the Observatory Director in 2019. Prior to joining LCO she spent 20 years at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Caltech, primarily working on NASA’s infrared Great Observatory, the Spitzer Space Telescope. At JPL she was the Project Manager for the Spitzer and NuSTAR missions. For almost the entire Spitzer mission she was the most visible liaison with the astronomical community as the Assistant Director for Community Affairs at the Spitzer Science Center at Caltech. Lisa was a postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Observatories and a University of California President’s post-doctoral fellow. Her primary research interests areas have focused on understanding the early history and evolution of galaxies through direct deep infrared imaging surveys and studying the imprint they leave in the spectra of bright, distant quasars.
